In The Beginning
Wiechmann Winter Wonderland started as most yard displays do. We started over years 20 ago with a few strands of lights, a couple plastic soldiers, and a CD player playing holiday music from the window. Our display grew bigger and brighter every year. More plastic figures were added as well as more lights with some wooden cutouts aswell. After moving to Waverly in 2001, we weren't able to expand every year as much as we used too because of opening our own business, and just living hectic lives in general. Our display remained pretty much the same for the first seven years of living here besides a few minor additions.
2008
It was in 2008 that the dispaly took on a whole new life. The year before, we noticed many videos online of people with lights that "danced" to music they would have playing. We were amazed at what others could create, and knew that we were going to have our own light show! 2008 was our first year using "Light-O-Rama" technology and it was a hit! We had people coming from towns all over the place coming to watch the display and we even ended up on the evening news!
2009
In 2009 we had plenty of additions and upgrades for the display. We doubled our LOR channels from 64 to 128 allowing us add even more lights and animation! Unfortunately we ran into quite a few problems while trying to get our show up and going. Between our laptop computer crashing, (Which holds all of the lightshow information) our software not working correctly, and blowing fuses left and right, it was definitely a tough year! However we were able to get everything up and going and the display was a hit!
2010
As with 2009, we had our share of hiccups during our 2010 season. However, we were able to put together a great show! We added two 8 foot tall "mega trees" each wrapped in hundreds of lights, our leaping arches, and a few other small additions!
2011
Seeing as we had plenty of complications with our previous years shows, we were more than careful when preparing for our 2011 season! Our display was nearly completely set up by mid November and nearly all of our sequences for our show were completed. We were a lot more organized that previous years which proved to be worth it! New additions for this years show include 9 brand new Christmas trees each wrapped in green and red lights, newly modified "mega trees", and a few other surprises! Be sure to check us out!
